Humanity Projects

Pride of Humanity Month - April

Pride of Humanity Month is a month solely devoted to serving all of Humanity regardless of whether the groups or individuals are gay or straight, male or female, black or white, Christian or Atheist, or Jew or Muslim. With the issues of bullying, racism, homophobia and religious conflict dividing us, it is time to promote unity by loving, caring and serving one another rather than by choosing to conflict with those who are different than ourselves. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "We must learn to live together as brothers [and sisters] or perish together as fools."

In their selection of community service projects, we encourage participants to consider and include serving groups and individuals who may not look like them, think like them, agree with them or worship like them.

In addition to sponsoring projects to serve Humanity, we would like groups, individuals and neighbors to consider sponsoring and/or hosting a variety of Unity Dinners and Luncheons - not to discuss their differences, but to focus on things that they have in common. We believe that Unity Dinners among blacks and whites, Gays and Straights, Jews and Muslims and Christians and Atheist can be a catalyst in bringing us all closer together in our efforts to help heal the racial and cultural divide worldwide.

All holidays and special celebrations remind us of both pleasant and painful events of the past. Pride of Humanity Month, celebrated the Month of April, will be a constant reminder that as part of the family of Humanity, we all have a moral obligation to love and serve each other and do so with the understanding that God loves us all (St. John 3:16).
