Pride - No Conflict
Is it possible to have both a Gay Pride Week, and a Pride of Humanity Month, two different celebrations at two different times that would not conflict, compete or stand in opposition to one another? Has anything like this ever been done before?
In 1908, a Miss Anna Jarvis of West Virginia started Mother’s Day to honor her mother and mothers throughout the world. One year later, in 1909, after hearing an inspiring Mother’s Day sermon from her pastor, Ms Sonora Dodd of Spokane, Washington said that she wanted to honor her father in the same way that Ms Jarvis honored her mother. Ms Dodd’s father was a single parent dad who successfully raised six children. One year later, on June 19, 1910, America celebrated its first Father’s Day. It was never the intent of Ms Dodd to compete with Mother’s Day it was just to honor those fathers who were also deserving of such recognition. These two celebrations did not compete or conflict with each other they complimented one another by honoring both deserving mothers and deserving fathers.

The Beauty of Diversity in Faith and Religion
Seeing Jewish men wearing their skull caps (Yarmulka), Muslim women wearing their head scarfs and burqa(s), East Indian men wearing their turbans and Christians wearing their crosses, is one of the most beautiful expressions of diversity in faith.
A. Christians express their beauty during their celebration of Christmas and Easter.
B. The Jewish community expresses their beauty during their celebration of Passover and Yom Kippur
C. And the Muslims, like the Christians and the Jews express their beauty during their celebration of Ramadam and their pilgrimage to Mecca.
Other faiths and religions also have expressions of beauty as well. We encourage them all to participate in the Pride of Humanity Month.
